So mad at this teacher... same one I complained about yesterday. We have the midterm in that class tomorrow. The first suck is that he decided to have a paper due on the same day as the midterm, but I can handle that. So I finished my paper and was doing my last bit of studying for the night when he sends an email to the class at 9pm. This email says he forgot to mention some things that will be on the midterm. He gave us the names of 6 companies and wants us to spend 15 minutes on each company researching their corporate histories, at least one of these companies will be on the midterm and we'll need to discuss in depth how their corporate decisions relate to system analysis. Again, this was sent at 9pm tonight... the midterm is at 8:30am tomorrow. What the fuck is wrong with him?? I have to wake up at 6am to be there on time, there's no way I'll have time to research and study these companies in the morning before class. I'm done studying, my brain is fried, I'm exhausted and I want to sleep. I will not do well on the stupid test at all if I don't sleep.

ETA: I just remembered that in class today he said he hadn't written the midterm yet. This means he either just finished writing it and decided to include this crap for god knows what reason or, even more likely, he never got around to writing it and is using a midterm from a previous year, he just realized this stuff is on the midterm he's using and decided to give us a heads up.

I can not wait for teacher evaluations.

We might be getting a new kitty this weekend. I don't remember if I posted about it, but one of our two cats passed away a few months ago. She was 10 years old and seemed to be in good health, but died suddenly and we still don't know exactly why. We feel like we're ready for another cat now and there's an adoption event this weekend so we're gonna check it out. Some of the cats that might be there are on Petfinder and I really hope this kitty is there. She's so freakin cute!

The only thing is that on the website they say "no children under 7", which I see as meaning they won't adopt to families with kids under 7, but Chris thinks it means the cat can't be for a child under 7. I hope that either Chris is right or they'll make exceptions. I wouldn't get a cat if I had a kid who I thought might terrorize it, but Jasmine has been around cats since she was born, she mostly ignores them and when she does interact she's very gentle. I don't want to go and fall in love with a cat only to be told we can't adopt because of Jasmine's age.

Woohoo, it's snowing! Finally on a day when we can actually enjoy it. And we can use the cute winter boots I got for Jaz!

I guess I was wrong about Christmas. Today Jasmine told me she wants a portal gun so she can slide forever. That might be a bit pricey...

Just watched the season finale of Breaking Bad (a couple days late, cause we don't have cable). Holy shit. I think this is the best season finale I have ever seen on any show.

I have some ideas about what the next season will contain and I can't wait to see what goes down. I wish I didn't have to wait. Right now I wish I had people to discuss it with, other than Chris since we've already discussed every aspect of the show. Everyone else watched it on Sunday, so the conversations have died down in the communities I'm in.

Does anyone on my list watch this show?

I got the book Pretend Soup from the library, which is a cookbook with recipes that kids can make with adult supervision. Jasmine always wants to help me cook, so this book was a great find. I think all the recipes are vegetarian, but not vegan. Tonight we made Pretend Soup. Jasmine had a lot of fun and it was actually really yummy.

I'm excited because Jasmine has started to draw things. Like, actual things (people, animals, aliens...) instead of just random squiggles. She realized that what she draws can represent stuff and she loves it. She has stories behind her drawings too. Today she drew me frozen in ice, being held captive by an alien, and a superhero coming to save me. She's an awesome kid.

I don't know if any of you have worked in software or are familiar with the business, but just in case someone might get this, I have to share.

I just saw this and died. )

I created a community - [livejournal.com profile] pnw_outdoorrec

It's a community for people in the Pacific Northwest who like outdoor activities. Chris and I love camping and have started hiking too, so I wanted to make a community for people to share experiences.

I haven't made the first post yet, too tired tonight. Tomorrow I plan to post about our hike on the Boulder River trail.

Hahaha
